When it comes to weight loss, every little helps. If you are stuck in a routine of diet and exercise and are looking for a little extra boost to achieve your goals, then these weight loss tricks, strangely enough actually work!
Weight Loss Trick 1 – Dessert for breakfast
If you are going to have treat, then have half of a croissant that’s been beckoning you since Monday morning. A study with a group of overweight people, who had lost weight on a diet, found that those who ate a big breakfast, and also included something sweet, lost more weight than those who ate a small breakfast with nothing sweet. This is partly because the occasional treats helped curb sweet cravings later on the day. This meant less overeating, and less chance of falling off the diet.

Weight Loss Trick 2 – Cut your food
The idea of cutting food into small pieces may seem silly, but this strategy can work. One study found that cutting your food can help trick your brain into thinking that there is more on the plate. This can lead to eating less while still feeling satisfied.
Devina Wadhera, from the psychology department at Arizona State University, said:
Cutting up energy-dense meal foods into smaller pieces may be beneficial to dieters who wish to make their meal more satiating while also maintaining portion control.
Within the study, researchers gave 301 college students a bagel, either unsliced or sliced into four pieces. Afterwards, the students were asked to a free lunch to eat as much as they wanted. The students who were given the unsliced bagel ate more at the free lunch than the students who had the bagel in four slices. The study shows that this means people may feel more satisfied after eating food that is cut into smaller pieces, rather than eating food in one large piece.
Weight Loss Trick 3: The morning exercise
Find time to exercise, no matter what time of day it is important. But if you need that extra little push when it comes to burning calories, then try to exercise in the morning. Studies have found that people who exercise in the morning work harder than those exercising at any other times of day.
Another bonus for morning exercises is its great effects on the general health of the body. In research done by Appalachian State University’s Dr. Scott Collier, tracked blood pressure levels and sleep patterns of individuals ages 40 to 60, who exercised moderately for 30 minutes, three times a week. The research volunteers walked on a treadmill at 7 a.m., midday (1 p.m.) and in the evening (7 p.m.).
In every case, those who exercised at 7 a.m. experienced about a 10 percent reduction in blood pressure that continued the remainder of the day. Additionally that also had about a 25 percent dip in blood pressure at night, slept longer and had better sleep cycles than when they exercised at other times of the day.
Weight Loss Trick 4: Drink hot water
A glass of ice water may be more refreshing, but if you want to lose weight, then you might want to switch to warm water. Recent research found that drinking a glass of warm water before a meal helps you feel fuller faster, so you may end up eating less food during a meal.
Weight Loss Trick 5: Eat More And Lose More Too!
It may seem counter intuitive, but this weight loss trick works: eat more and more often can help you lose weight. Eating frequent meals – about five or six in a day – can also increase your metabolism, and eating large amounts of healthier foods that are full of lean protein, fiber and other nutrients – instead of foods high in refined carbohydrates and processed ingredients – helps give you energy and keep you full without all the calories.
