As long as there are sleeveless tops and backless dresses, there will be women looking to get rid of their arm fat. If you want to get rid of arm fat fast then perhaps the American Council on Exercise (ACE) finally has the answer we’ve all been waiting for: so what is the best arm exercise to tone flabby arms?

A study by the Scientists at the Exercise and Health Program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse used  70 female volunteers to discover exactly that. They attached electromagnetic (EMG) electrodes to participants triceps while they performed various arms exercises. This gave the scientists the ability to record the women’s real-time muscle activity and determine what arms exercises gave the most muscle activity; in other words, which one was the definitive jiggle blaster! 

 

 

And The Science Behind How To Get Rid Of Arm Fat Says…

 

So the results from the EMG revealed that…drumroll…….the triangle pushup (also know as diamond pushups) gave the most muscle activity of all the exercises they tested, which makes this exercise number one for fighting arm flab and arm jiggle. The best thing about this exercise is that you don’t even need any equipment, so can be done anywhere and at anytime.

Just like the traditional pushup, you can do the triangle pushup on either on your knees or toes. But, instead of aligning your arms beneath your shoulders, your hands should form a triangle directly under your chest. Both tips of your left and right middle fingers should meet together to form the top of the triangle, while your thumbs point toward one another to create the straight-line base of the triangle. Just like a traditional pushup, keep your core stable and your body in one straight line and lower yourself almost all the way to the floor and back to your starting position. This study also showed that triceps kick backs and dips could also activate those hard-to-tone arm muscles at higher levels than the other upper body regimes tested. With that said, the least effective exercises in this study include overhead triceps extensions, bar push-downs, lying barbell triceps extensions and closed-grip bench press
